Ko wai mātou – Who are we Hoani Waititi Marae is an urban Marae based in West Auckland that opened in 1980, and is governed by the Hoani Waititi Marae charitable trust. Named after Hoani Retimana Waititi, a descendant of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, Kauaetangohia, the marae continues to honour his legacy through the formation of a Kōhanga reo, Kura Kaupapa Māori and Whare Kura and its partnership with New Zealand Management Academy in trade training through to the aspiration to open a Whare Wananga onsite.
